MATI Eco-Primary School: Nurturing Education & Nature

Founded in 2000, MATI Eco-Primary School provides quality education for children from disadvantaged families in Huzurikanda, Sherpur. Nestled in MATI Eco-village, the school offers a unique blend of academic learning and nature-based education through the Essence of Learning (EoL) method.

With over 4,000 students educated since its start, MATI continues to support children through the Student Support Program, ensuring continued education up to university. 

Thanks to the Sister Schools Foundation, the school now features a digital classroom, connecting students to the world and fostering global citizenship.

Teachers and coordinators are being trained in Digital & Media skills and in Intercultural Communication skills. The objective is to educate a group of 20 pupils (age 10-12) with the MoMo Education Methodology. They interact digitally with peers from another school in Bangladesh during the National Exchange Programme (NEP).

NATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME (NEP)

NEP consists of 11 lessons, where students improve their typing skills, learn how to create emails and to work with the DEEP Platform. Then they will read and comment on the blog posts and learn how they themselves can create messages and upload materials into DEEP. Once they have a sufficient level digitally they will be connected with a school in Germany or in the Netherlands to start a 2 year Global Citizenship exchange programme.
